Displaying a JPEG Image in a Pro/ENGINEER Drawing using Windows XP

Some Pro/ENGINEER users have mentioned they cannot get a JPEG image to display in a Pro/ENGINEER drawing using Windows XP.  Here is a trick to solve this:

Pro/ENGINEER checks the registry entry under:  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpeg (deafult) as "jpegfile"

This can be set by loading any application capable of opening a JPEG file and also associates itself to the specified registry.  Two known programs are Microsoft Office Photo Editor, available with Microsoft Office 97 onwards, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager, available with Microsoft Office 2003.

Once these programs are available for Pro/ENGINEER to display the image file, the image will be displayed in Pro/ENGINEER.
