Jam Packed Blue-White Weekend
Upwards of 50,000 Penn State fans are expected to tailgate around Beaver Stadium, meet some football players during the pre-game autograph session and get their first peek at the new Nittany Lion squad under Coach Bill O’Brien during the Blue-White Game. In addition to football fun, there are dozens of events all over campus Blue-White Weekend, April 20-22.

Coaches Caravan to Visit 18 Locales, 7 States
Meet new Nittany Lion football Coach Bill O’Brien and other featured Penn State head coaches when the Penn State Coaches Caravan bus tour makes its way to 18 locations in seven states during three weeks beginning April 30. At each stop, Penn Staters will have the opportunity to meet the coaches and hear about their athletic programs at a breakfast, lunch or evening event.

NCAA Two-Peat for Wrestlers
For the second year in a row, the Penn State wrestling team won the NCAA Championship. Three wrestlers are national champs, too—senior Frank Molinaro, sophomore Ed Ruth and sophomore David Taylor, who was also named “National Wrestler of the Year.” Penn State is only the fourth team in NCAA history to win back-to-back titles.

“A Memorial for Joe” DVD Now Available
The Paterno family announced that DVDs of the Jan. 26 “A Memorial for Joe” service at the Bryce Jordan Center is now for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, a cause Joe and Sue Paterno strongly supported.

Tapestries Helping Students in Crisis
Sometimes a parent loses a job. Or the family needs to get a grandmother into a nursing home. Or there's a health crisis and bills piling up. And suddenly there isn't enough money to pay for a child’s tuition and books at Penn State. Penn State’s Emergency Loan Fund can mean the difference between a student dropping out and getting a degree—and the money all comes from a unique Microfinance Match Fund that is raising money through a special handmade tapestry.

Help in Getting to Know BOT Candidates
With an unprecedented number of alumni candidates for the upcoming Penn State Board of Trustees election (beginning April 10 and ending May 3) and in response to the intense interest being expressed by alumni, the Penn State Alumni Association is launching two initiatives to help alumni make informed voting decisions: a “Meet the Candidates” event and a “Three Questions for the Candidates” website.

We Are … the Lion Ambassadors
Deftly walking backward while giving tours, organizing the famed S-Zone in Beaver Stadium, teaching cheers to incoming first-year students and re-enacting events of Penn State’s past are just part of what the Lion Ambassadors do in support of Penn State. This student group, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, works year round to promote the history and traditions of Penn State.
