Goodbye, Joe

The silence was deafening in the days after Joseph Vincent Paterno died. At the Paterno statue throughout the week, in the lines snaking across campus into the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, and in the vast crowds lining the streets of campus and State College, tens of thousands of Penn State fans were reverentially silent as they honored Coach Paterno and helped guide him home. While Penn State is not returning to its original school colors of pink and black, the basketball Lady Lions will be donning pink uniforms for their Feb. 26 game against Minnesota as part of Penn State’s Pink Zone efforts. Penn State’s Pink Zone has raised more than $359,000 for breast cancer causes. Can’t make it to the game? Watch it on the Big Ten Network and support the cause online.

New Furniture Out of Old Elms
