Rossman and Spanier To Be Named Honorary Alumni
The Penn State Alumni Association will award Honorary Alumni status to two people who have worked as tireless advocates for the University. William “Bill” Rossman and Penn State President Graham Spanier will be recognized and inducted into the Alumni Association, along with the 2005 class of Distinguished Alumni, during a June 3 ceremony at The Nittany Lion Inn.

Arts Festival Alumni Weekend, July 13-17, is a chance for alumni and their families to come back to Penn State and live in a residence hall, eat at the West Hall commons, and take in all the changes at Penn State since their own graduation day. Singles, couples, and families can stay on campus while enjoying the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, one of the largest arts festivals on the East Coast.

Penn State Graduating Seniors Enjoy Games, Food, and T-shirts at Alumni Association Senior Sendoff
More than 1,400 graduating seniors took time off from studying to spend the afternoon on the grounds of the Hintz Family Alumni Center as the Lion Ambassadors and the Penn State Alumni Association bid farewell to the Class of 2005 during the third annual Penn State Senior Sendoff.

May 1970: Penn State Cancels Classes for Term in Response to Kent State Shootings
It was a time of student protest, activism, and dissent. Thirty-five years ago on campuses across the country, students were voicing their widespread dissatisfaction with American military policy in Vietnam. At Penn State, the tide of student activism reached its apex that spring, when Penn State experienced the worst outbreak of student disorder it had ever seen, leading to the cancellation of the term on May 12, 1970.
