Unbeaten 1994 football team to be honored during Blue-White Game
One of the outstanding teams in Penn State’s storied football history will be honored at the Blue-White Game on Saturday, April 23. In their second season of Big Ten competition, the 1994 Nittany Lions became the first team in Big Ten history to post a 12-0 record. More than 30 members of the ’94 team have thus far indicated they will return for the 10-year reunion on Blue-White Weekend.

Penn State receives $1.8 million grant to support community-University engagement
A new Penn State initiative is promoting University-wide institutional change that will transform the way the University partners with communities to solve some of their most pressing challenges. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Mich., has awarded Penn State $1.8 million, over three years, to create the FOCUS for Engagement: Forming Outreach Community University Systems for Engagement model. Penn State is one of four universities nationwide receiving funding for community-university engagement models.

L.A. Chapter hosts interactive panel discussion about broadcast industries
More than 160 alumni and friends gathered at the Los Angeles Marriott Downtown on Feb. 26 for "Penn State Meets Hollywood: An Evening of Networking with the Pros." The event, sponsored in part by the Los Angeles Chapter and the College of Communications Alumni Society, included panelists Tom Ortenberg ’82, president of Lions Gate Films Releasing; Lisa Salters ’88, an ESPN reporter; and Andrew Kevin Walker ’86, a screenwriter whose credits include “Se7en” and “Sleepy Hollow.”

But times have changed. The Alumni Association has created a new online application specifically for use by affiliate groups as they promote the Real Life program.
