We want to hear from you
Weíre only days away from the 150th anniversary of Penn Stateís chartering, and so I thought Iíd share with you the story from Penn Stateís past that I find most intriguing yet disconcerting. It is the story of our founding president, Evan Pugh: How quickly and pervasively his influence was felt. Then, even more quickly, it was lost, as if Pugh had never lived. Pughís story is Penn Stateís Greek tragedy.
Promote elections in a positive, acceptable way
Nominations are currently being accepted for the upcoming Board of Trustees and Alumni Council elections. The Alumni Association encourages all alumni to participate in this process, but please remember that affiliate groups of the Alumni Association must refrain from publicly endorsing, supporting, or campaigning to elect individual candidates.

The founding of a world-class university
It began in 1855; just 80 years after the United States became an independent nation. On February 22 of that year, Pennsylvania Governor William Pollock signed a bill chartering The Farmersí High School as a baccalaureate institution, creating what is today The Pennsylvania State University.
Upcoming events
Bringing alumni together is the heart of our mission and our identity. The Alumni Associationís annual events and programs such as reunions, homecoming activities, and pep rallies promote feelings of nostalgia and connection to the University and to each other among alumni.
