Catch tomorrow’s stars of stage and screen today. Some of Penn State’s best musical theatre students are taking their show on the road in early January 2010. Penn State alumni and their guests are invited to enjoy a program of popular Broadway musical numbers, hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association and Penn State President Graham Spanier, that are taking place in three Pennsylvania cities and Washington, D.C.

Tickets are just $10 for Penn State Alumni Association members, $20 for non-members, and $10 for students (ages 13–18). To secure a spot, register online by Dec. 21, 2009, or by calling 800-548-LION (5466), option 4.
Penn State has built its musical theatre major into an internationally acclaimed, marquee program. The highly competitive program typically auditions more than 400 applicants to fill 12-14 spots each year. Penn State musical theatre alumni are currently performing on Broadway, in national touring shows, and in films and on television.

The fourth annual President’s Concert, featuring Penn State’s Philharmonic performing works by Rachmaninoff, Respighi and Ginastera, is set for Wednesday, March 24, at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium in New York City. Admission to the pre-performance reception and 8:00 p.m. concert is $50 for Alumni Association members and $60 for non-members. Watch the Penn State Alumni Association’s Events page for details.
