Help the kids by attending these glittery galas and events.

2010 Hope Gala: It’s Up to You, New York!
Friday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Penn Staters in the New York City area will gather at Manhattan’s trendy nightspot Capitale for the second annual “Hope Gala.” Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $10,000. In addition to dining and dancing, this year’s gala is being hosted by former Penn State and NFL star LaVar Arrington.

Deep in the Heart of Dixie, the Penn State Alumni Association’s Greater Atlanta Chapter is preparing for the fourth annual “Diamonds Over Georgia Gala,” benefitting The Four Diamonds Fund (THON 2010) and Camp Sunshine, a group helping children with cancer in Atlanta. Dancing, drinks and divine hors

Blue White Ball, 4 Diamonds, 3 Rivers, One Dream
Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7:00 p.m.
Join fellow Penn Staters at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field on Super Bowl Eve for the second “Blue White Ball,” benefitting THON 2010 and The Four Diamonds Fund. Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $10,000 For the Kids.

Liberty Ball 2010: A Knight for the Kids
Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7:00 p.m.
The Penn State Alumni Association’s Philadelphia Chapter hosts its popular “Liberty Ball” for the fifth year. Three-course dinner, cocktails and entertainment will highlight the evening at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

Knight of Diamonds in the District
Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.
Save the date! Get a jump on contributing to THON 2011 by joining Penn State alums and friends for “Knight of Diamonds in the District” at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., for an evening of first-class dining and entertainment.

THON 2010 will be Feb. 19-21 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. THON started in 1972 and, since 1977, has raised more than $61 million for The Four Diamonds Fund at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. The Four Diamonds Fund’s mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families and supporting comprehensive care and innovative research. THON 2009 raised more than $7.49 million for The Four Diamonds Fund.
