Our Big Ten Champion and No. 8 (BCS) Nittany Lions will play the No. 5 (BCS) USC Trojans in the New Year’s Day contest. And Penn Staters are excited about this matchup. In fact, more than 2,000 alumni and Penn State fans have filled the various tour packages of the Alumni Association’s Official Penn State Bowl Tour, and many more Nittany Lion fans will be making their way to California on their own or with other tours.

All Penn State fans traveling west for the Rose Bowl are welcome to attend these big events on Wednesday, Dec. 31:

Rose Bowl Kickoff Luncheon
The Rose Bowl Kickoff Luncheon is a high-energy event featuring celebrity sportscasters, Coach Joe Paterno, USC Coach Pete Carroll, football players, marching bands, and pep squads—and this year's Rose Bowl Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The luncheon begins at noon, and all attendees receive a unique, commemorative favor. The cost is $85. To buy tickets or for more information, click here.

Penn State Pep Rally
The free pep rally will feature Nittany Lion football players, the Blue Band, cheerleaders, the Lion, legendary coach Joe Paterno, and more. The pep rally program will begin at 3:30 p.m. PST, at a location to be announced.

The Tournament of Roses has dozens of other events, including the Rose Bowl Parade, for visitors to enjoy. For more information on Rose Bowl events, visit the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Web site at www.tournamentofroses.com.

This year’s Rose Bowl Game presented by Citi marks Penn State’s third appearance in the bowl known as “the granddaddy of them all” and second appearance since joining the Big Ten. Built in 1922, the Rose Bowl is a National Historic Landmark that has hosted five Super Bowls, two World Cup Soccer Championships (men’s and women’s), Olympic events in 1932 and 1984, and two National Championship games under the BCS. The Rose Bowl seating capacity is 90,000-plus.
