Dust off those dancing shoes and take the tux to the cleaners. Liberty Ball 2008, “A Knight for the Kids,” will be held Feb. 2 at the Downtown Club in Philadelphia. Sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Alumni Association and the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group, Liberty Ball 2008 is a black–tie optional evening of dinner, dancing, and philanthropy that benefits Thon.
This year, Penn State alums and friends will enjoy a first-class dinner from award-winning Executive Chef Felix Maietta. The evening includes a four-hour premium open bar beginning with hors d’oeuvres, salad, choice of entrée, and assorted desserts served in a Viennese Dessert Room.
All Liberty Ball proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction are contributed directly to Thon, which is scheduled for Feb. 22-24, 2008 at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center. Last year, the Liberty Ball raised more than $7,000 toward Thon’s total of $5.2 million in support of pediatric cancer research and care through the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children’s Hospital at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
