VOLUME 1 ISSUE 2   February 2004
Our database is one of the best, but we need your help
Maintaining a database of nearly one million records is no easy task, but the Alumni Association’s Data Access and Services unit does just that—and they do it better than almost anyone else in the country. The accuracy of our records is yet another source of Penn State pride, but we can’t do it without a little help from you.

The official Alumni Association database contains nearly half-million alumni records, and nearly another half-million "friend" records. What's even more impressive is that, of the half-million alumni records, 93 percent contain current mailing addresses. Such a high accuracy rate is virtually unheard of in the area of alumni databases.

A great deal of work goes into the upkeep of Penn State’s alumni records. The Association’s Data Access unit processes nearly 75,000 biographical updates—including 15,000 address updates—each and every month.

Part of our mission is to "connect alumni to the University and to each other." Current contact information for all alumni is vital to the success of that goal. Please help us in our efforts to unite every member of the Penn State family by keeping your information, along with that of your affiliate group members, up-to-date.

To update your information with the Alumni Association, please visit us online at http://www.alumni.psu.edu/faq/address.htm or call 800-548-LION, option 2.
