A message from the Executive Director

Dear Alumni Volunteers:

After 149 years, it’s finally here—the University’s sesquicentennial year. And your Penn State Alumni Association is heavily involved in making sure the University’s 150th birthday is celebrated early and often over the next academic year. We’ll begin the yearlong celebration in early July with an event featuring the granddaughters of former Penn State President George Atherton and legendary professor of botany William Buckhout. There will be a public kick-off event in Schwab Auditorium on July 8, displays in the HUB throughout the year, a University-wide student event in October, and a national academic conference in late-February. Penn State has emerged as one of the world’s most consequential research universities. It has provided access and opportunity on an unprecedented scale. It’s high time we celebrate!
