The Elephant in the Room
The 2010 Infiniti QX has far more than just a commanding presence.

Engineered brilliantly to feature exceptional style, strength, refinement and innovation, the 2010 Infiniti QX is an imposing figure and a powerful reminder that the company specializes in far more than luxury sport sedans.

Outside, Infiniti’s 2010 QX more than lives up to its full-size SUV moniker. Unique, aggressive styling and powerful features combine to create a commanding, impressively refined sport utility with uncommon appeal. Up front, the QX’s massive cascading chrome grille is flanked by low-mounted high-intensity headlamps and square foglamps. The SUV itself rests on a solid foundation of standard 20-inch, nine-spoke chrome alloys.

The QX’s profile is particularly striking, combining a short, burly hood, steeply sloped windshield and nicely sculpted body. Highlighted by a strip of chrome running the length of the doors, side paneling is vast, simple and bookended by modern, exaggerated fender flares. Atop the SUV, chrome roofracks stretch from just behind the sunroof to the rear end’s nicely tapered power liftgate. In short, Infiniti’s design is contemporary and identifiable. The QX is powerful and imposing, yet remarkably elegant.

Beneath the hood, there is nothing elegant about the 2010 QX. The QX houses one of the most impressive and powerful engines ever built by the company. Comprised of forged steel and reinforced aluminum, Infiniti’s 5.6-liter DOHC V8 engine generates an aggressive 320 hp and 393 lb/ft of torque through an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission. Power is immediate and ample, exploding from a dead stop and accelerating capably at higher speeds. The V8 with low gear ratios to complement an ultra-strong chassis allots a properly equipped QX a healthy 9,000-pound towing capacity.

In either two or four-wheel drive models, the QX is designed to temper that power with precise, confident handling and traction. Speed sensitive power steering combines with Infiniti’s Vehicle Dynamic Control system to maintain direction, limit wheel spin and provide a surprisingly nimble driving experience. The available All-Mode Four-Wheel Drive system takes this a step further, continually adjusting the amount of torque spread between the front and rear wheels to ensure exceptional traction in any condition (hauling is enhanced by the high-torque mode of the 4WD system).

The sheer size of Infiniti’s SUV is even more apparent inside where storage spots and spacious seating are easy to come by among nearly 190 cubic feet of interior space. Second- and third-row seats fold down, opening up over 97 cubic feet of dynamic cargo space. With seating for up to eight (or seven with available second row captains’ chairs), the QX features class-leading legroom and headroom, as well as modern comforts like heated leather seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control.

Beyond spaciousness and comfort, the cabin of the newest QX is remarkably elegant and refined. Premium stitched leather is complemented by attractive wood trim and subtle chrome accents while control panels and gauges feature a sleek, contemporary design and arrangement. The QX doesn’t overwhelm with over-the-top opulence, but simply ensures a pleasant, appealing cabin.

Atop the center stack, you’ll find the color screen of Infiniti’s available rearview monitor and hard drive navigation system. This nav system not only provides clear, three-dimensional maps and directions, but gives immediate traffic and lane-guidance as well. Integrated into that are the exclusive acoustics of the optional 12-speaker Bose premium stereo, featuring 9.3GB of internal music storage made possible by Infiniti’s Music Box® system. The available Mobile Entertainment System integrates a flip-down eight-inch monitor for easy movie viewing or video game playing in the back.

For safety, the 2010 QX features the latest innovations including Intelligent Cruise Control and braking systems that actively work to help you keep proper distance from vehicles in front of you and provide additional stopping power when needed. Traction control, stability control and rollover protection systems work to maintain the vehicle’s course at all times while intelligent airbags (including front, side and side-curtain) protect all three rows in the event of a collision.

The 2010 Infiniti QX features a starting MSRP of $56,050.
