While the Wrangler might be considered the most recognizable vehicle in the Jeep® lineup, the Grand Cherokee remains the brand’s highest-selling model. An SUV with a ton of off-road attitude, the 2018 Jeep® Grand Cherokee is a model that helps drivers stand out in a sea of subpar utility models.
A new level of performance
As is the case with any Jeep® model, the 2018 Grand Cherokee is a vehicle that is built to perform, on and off road. This is evident right from the start, as the Grand Cherokee’s base trim includes a 3.6-liter V6 24-valve VVT engine under the hood, producing 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you’re looking for an added boost of power, you need only upgrade to the available 5.7-liter V8 24-valve VVT engine, which creates 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the iconic SRT® 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 delivers a hearty 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
However, if you want the absolute most power out of your Grand Cherokee, the Trackhawk is the model to choose. Its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 generates 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, enough power to help the Grand Cherokee complete a quarter mile in 11.6 seconds, making it the quickest SUV in the automotive market.
Creating comfortable surroundings
When you drive your Grand Cherokee down the trails, you’ll be enveloped in the model’s posh, pristine cabin. The interior of the 2018 Grand Cherokee includes plenty of amenities designed with driver and passenger comfort in mind. Some of these convenient and comforting features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ on the lowest trim. Upgrading to higher trims will add features like the available Harman Kardon® audio system that will fill the cabin with your favorite music, courtesy of 19 speakers and a subwoofer.
Tech to keep you safe
When pushing your Grand Cherokee to its limits, you will want to make sure that you are safe behind the wheel. Thankfully, the 2018 Jeep® Grand Cherokee includes one of the most comprehensive safety suites in the auto industry. Hill Start Assist and traction control — both standard on every Grand Cherokee — are helpful for those off-roading jaunts. For those trips to the city, the ParkView® rear back up camera is the perfect tool for navigating your way through a crowded parking lot.
This year’s iteration of the Jeep® Grand Cherokee adds plenty of features that make it the best entry yet in the Grand Cherokee’s long-standing history.
