Vehicle Comparison: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica vs. Honda Odyssey
The Pacifica is the new champ

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and the Honda Odyssey both compete for the attention of minivan drivers, but the Pacifica is a smarter choice for those who emphasize value, performance and versatility.

The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica starts at an MSRP of $28,595, nearly $1,000 less than the $29,550 MSRP of the 2016 Honda Odyssey. The Chrysler Pacifica then gives you more for your money, starting with 37 segment-first features and plenty of thoughtful amenities that make it the choice for discerning families.

Power and performance are also Pacifica advantages. Its 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine produces a best-in-class 287 hp and 262 lb/ft of torque, and the V6 comes paired with an advanced nine-speed automatic transmission. That’s more significantly more power than the 248 hp and 250 lb/ft of torque the Odyssey delivers from its 3.5-liter V6, and the Odyssey V6 is paired with a less efficient six-speed automatic. The stronger Pacifica engine delivers an EPA-estimated 28 mpg highway, the same efficiency as the Odyssey. If fuel economy is a priority, the Pacifica is also the only minivan to offer hybrid technology that can go 30 miles exclusively on an electric charge.

Both the Pacifica and Odyssey can seat up to eight people; the Pacifica is arguably the most adaptable minivan available, however, with up to 243 seating configurations and the Stow ‘n Go seating and storage system that’s unrivaled by anything else in the segment. Standard Active Noise Cancellation helps the Pacifica earn the designation of quietest minivan in the segment, too.

Inside, the Pacifica has more front- and second-row headroom, in addition to more front and rear hip room, more front legroom and more rear shoulder room. Some of the standout features offered in the Pacifica include a 20-speaker harman/kardon® audio system, hands-free power sliding doors, a hands-free tailgate, the Uconnect® Theater system with the largest touchscreen in the segment, and a Stow ‘n Vac built-in vacuum system that’s more powerful than the one available in the Odyssey. In fact, the brand-new Pacifica cabin as already earned a place on the Wards “10 Best Interiors” list for 2016, a list the Odyssey did not make.

The Pacifica offers more than 100 safety, security and driver assistance features, including Forward Collision Warning-Plus, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, a 360 degree surround camera, ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, the latter two not available on an Odyssey.

Autoweek reviewers said, "The most important success metric for a tool is how well it performs the function for which it's designed. Judged by that criterion, the Chrysler Pacifica is the best multi-purpose people mover in the world.”

There’s a new leader in the segment, offering more of all the things you want in a family vehicle for less money. If you want the best, you owe it to yourself and your family to see and drive the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Come in today.
