The 2015 Chrysler 200 is now available here at Perkins Motors in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the midsize sedan segment is getting a shake up. With a redesign that emphasizes performance and quality, it’s no wonder the 200 inspired more than 10,000 orders on the first day vehicle orders could be placed.
Available in LX, Limited, 200S and 200C) trims, the four-door, five-passenger Chrysler 200 has been completely redesigned for the 2015 model year. The 2015 200 (MSRP from $21,700) has already earned a place on the WardsAuto “10 Best Interiors” list thanks to a sophisticated, inviting and comfortable cabin that is executed with excellent craftsmanship. “Designers paid extraordinary attention to detail in the new Chrysler 200C interior design and it shows. Specially engineered wood veneer sweeps across the instrument panel and has a wonderful natural feel,” said Drew Winter, editor-in-chief of WardsAuto World magazine.
The newest 200 is powered by your choice of two excellent engines. The first is a new 2.4-liter MultiAir®2 Tigershark inline four-cylinder engine that’s good for 184 hp and 173 lb/ft of torque. The standard, segment-exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission helps the 200 return an EPA-estimated 36 mpg highway. Power output and economy are all considerably improved over the previous 200. Also available is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that sends 295 hp and 262 lb/ft of torque through the nine-speed automatic while still achieving an EPA-estimated 32 mpg highway, a three mpg improvement over the outgoing model.
Other impressive performance features include a state-of-the-art all-wheel drive system that features a segment-first fully disconnecting rear axle, a “Sport” mode for spirited driving, and an electronic shifting rotary dial for the transmission that adds both style and space-saving functionality.
