The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is available here at Perkins Motors in Colorado Springs, Colorado and ready to take on the competition in the extremely fierce midsize sedan segment. With a new striking design, improved powertrains, added comfort and amenities and a focus on excellent safety and engineering, the newest 200 is already winning fans and bringing excited drivers into the Chrysler family.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 starts at an MSRP of $21,700 and is available in LX, Limited, 200S and 200C trim levels. Not only is that starting MSRP lower than those of the Ford Fusion ($21,970), Honda Accord ($21,955), Nissan Altima ($22,170), Chevrolet Malibu ($22,340) and Toyota Camry ($22,425), it’s also $95 less than the outgoing 200.
The newest 200 (specifically the 200C trim) has already been named to Ward’s
“10 Best Interiors” list––alongside models from Rolls Royce and Mercedes-Benz––and Autoblog.com’s Jonathon Ramsey noted, “Throw in the linen leather with bronze accents and Uconnect, and you've got a car that has many of the same features found on the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
”. An even better indication of the value built into the 200 might be this observation, from auto writer Nick Kurczewski in his review of the 2015 200 for the New York Daily News
, “Yet even in base format, minus any fancy ventilated front seats or heated steering wheels, the Chrysler 200 cabin has a very attractive and robust look and feel to it.”
Chrysler engineers spent thousands of hours making sure the all-new 2015 200 would be recognized as a leader in the segment, and they accomplished that mission completely. Clean and muscular, soulful and strong, the 200 embodies the new face of Chrysler. For the first time, the headlamps and grille are integrated, and signature lighting with available full-LED Daytime Running Lights, LED taillamps and LED foglamps adds a touch of class. The 200S adds additional attitude with gloss-black trim throughout and available 19-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels.
Chrysler left no detail untouched, and that’s reflected in powertrain choices that are world class and among the best in the segment. Up first is the standard 2.4-liter Tigershark® MultiAir®2 inline four-cylinder engine that produces 184 hp and 173 lb/ft of torque through a segment-exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission. This combination is highly efficient, delivering an EPA-estimated 36 mpg highway, a five mpg improvement over the outgoing model. Also available is a new iteration of the acclaimed 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which produces a best-in-class 295 hp and 262 lb/ft of torque through the nine-speed automatic. Fuel economy is also impressive, EPA-estimated at 29 mpg. A best-in-class all-wheel drive system is also available, and it features a full disconnecting rear axle, a segment first, to help achieve maximum fuel economy when the system isn’t needed. The nine-speed automatic is controlled through a rotary e-shift dial that is both easy to use and space saving. The new 200 is also the most aerodynamic vehicle in its class, with a low, 0.27 coefficient of drag.
Careful attention was paid to maximize passenger comfort and provide continued connectivity to what matters to you, even while you’re on the road. Among the highlights are the award-wining Uconnect® 8.4-inch touch-screen system and another segment-exclusive – a full-color, reconfigurable, seven-inch LED instrument/gauge cluster. A navigation system is also available.
All models come with active grille shutters, solar control glass, automatic headlamps, air conditioning, an ECO driving display to promote fuel efficient driving habits, LED ambient lighting, a Vehicle Information Center and USB port for the audio system. Leather seating, ventilated front seats and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof are also available. The spacious 200 also has more front and rear shoulder room than the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and Kia Optima.
No competitor offers more standard and available safety and security features than the 200. Standard features include Traction Control; Electronic Stability Control; Antilock Brakes with Brake Assist, Brake Traction Control System and Electronic Brake-force Distribution; Electronic Roll Mitigation and a strong safety cage that’s 60 percent advanced technology steel. Available driver aids and safety features including forward-thinking systems like the segment-exclusive Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus, which can bring the 200 to a complete stop if necessary to avoid vehicles stopped in front. Also available are Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path (RCP) detection.
Chrysler is confident in the quality of the 2015 200, which comes standard with a five-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty with Roadside Assistance that bests the powertrain offerings from Toyota, Honda, Ford and Nissan. The Accord and Altima don’t offer any Roadside Assistance with their warranty coverage, and while the Ford and Toyota do, their coverage doesn’t stack up.
The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is purpose-built to be better than its competitors. Stop by today to see and drive it for yourself.
