Vehicle Profile: The Scion 2011 xD Release Series 3.0
An exclusive release from Scion.

Scion has announced a special edition of the funky xD for 2011. The xD Release Series (RS) 3.0 five-door begins with a standard xD and, in the true spirit of the brand, Scion has customized the body and color to striking effect.

Each of these limited edition models—Scion will build only 1,500 of the xD RS 3.0—will feature an aggressively styled four-piece body kit, exclusive to the RS 3.0, with side skirts and lower lips in front and rear, B-pillars with a special carbon-fiber appliqué and a stainless-steel numbered badge.

MSRP for the 2011 xD Release Series 3.0 is $16,905 with manual transmission and $17,705 with an automatic.

In addition, the xD RS 3.0 comes in one color, aptly named xPRESSO, not available on any other Scion model.

Standard features on the xD RS 3.0 include air conditioning, keyless entry, cruise control and sport front bucket seats. Additional safety features include antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags and full-length side-curtain airbags.

A Pioneer stereo system with large display screen also is standard with iPod integration and RCA jack. An available stereo upgrade offers high-definition radio, additional jacks for external speakers and a control system modeled on an iPod. Scion also makes a navigation system available as an upgrade.

Power is derived from a 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that puts out 128 hp and produces 125 lb/ft of torque. EPA estimates place the xD at up to 27 mpg city and 33 highway.

Be sure to ask your dealer about the Scion Service Boost, which offers free factory-recommended maintenance such as oil and filter changes and tire rotations. The Scion Service Boost also includes 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The limited editions Scion offers tend to sell out fast, so if you want a piece of Scion history, contact us today.
