Keep the Fun Coming in Kansas and Nebraska
Let the arts and festive celebrations inspire you this month.

If you’re ready to enjoy a fun, formal evening of decadence and delight, you won’t want to miss this year’s Chocolate Lover’s Affair. Brought to you by The Lindsborg Arts Council, this event will tantalize your taste buds and appeal to your artistic senses. It’s a creative celebration where you can sip champagne, sample chocolate delicacies and vote for your favorite chocolate-infused recipe. Put in your vote for your favorite in the place setting contest; each is designed with an original theme, some of which are valentine-inspired. Take part in the art auction featuring a variety of works donated by area artists. Rich, delicious baked goods will also be put up on the block. All proceeds go to benefit a scholarship fund organized by the Lindsborg Arts Council for local Smoky Valley High School students pursuing an art-related field of study. This charming event will be held February 12, 2011 in Lindsborg, Kansas. For more information, contact the Lindsborg Arts Council at 785-227-3032.

If you love the orchestra and western music, head to the historic Fox Theatre in Hutchinson, Kansas as The Diamond W Wranglers perform with Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra for the first time ever. The Diamond W Wranglers, one of the state’s most cherished bands, have performed their original western sound, a blend of classic cowboy tunes and timeless originals to such prestigious places as Carnegie Hall and Nashville, Tennessee. They have even wowed audiences as far away as China, and now they’ve come back to Kansas and joined the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra to deliver an elegant and wonderful performance just for you on February 5, 2011. For more information, visit www.hutchinsonfox.com.

There is much to love in Valentine, Nebraska as the namesake holiday approaches. This year, The 10th Annual Heart City Bull Bash celebrates with more than 130 bulls on hand for viewing. There will be plenty of other entertainment as well including commercial exhibits to browse, wine tastings to enjoy and shows to see including art shows and a gun & sport show, plus activities for the whole family. The Bull Bash converges on Main Street on February 12, 2011. For more information on the Bull Bash, visit www.bullbash.com. On Valentine’s Day, “The Heart City” hosts a number of festive events from chocolate contests and chili cook-offs to weddings and a coronation. For more information, contact the Chamber of Commerce or visit www.heartcity.com.

Have a fun-filled month and a very special Valentine’s Day!
