The All New 2010 Cadillac CTS Sports Wagon

Early next year Cadillac hopes to bring the European wagon frenzy to the United States with the all-new 2010 CTS Sports Wagon.  Created as an alternative to larger utility vehicles, the CTS Sports Wagon is modeled after the popular CTS Sedan.  In fact, the front end of the wagon closely resembles its 4-door predecessor, but it is the striking rear that both defines and differentiates this new Cadillac.

As a wagon, this vehicle offers 25 cubic-feet of cargo space and a whopping 121.9 cubic-feet with the rear seats folded away.  Although surprisingly, it shares the 113.4-inch wheel base of the CTS Sedan and actually is 0.7 inch shorter.  The classic Cadillac presence is most notable in the thick D-pillars and large vertical tail lights that flank both sides of the rear power lift-gate.

Due to the comparable size, the CTS Sports Wagon powertrains are exactly like those of the sedan with a 263 horsepower, V6 base engine.  The expected 26 mpg EPA will undoubtedly give larger crossover vehicles a run for their money.  The same competent handling of the CTS sedan carries over to the CTS wagon and buyers will have the option between an Aisin 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission and also between rear and all-wheel drive.
