Introducing the Cadillac CTS-V

What does it take to be the fastest V8 production sedan in the world?   From the mesh grille to the signature tail lights, Cadillac’s new 2009 CTS-V sedan holds the answer.  The 2009 CTS-V has become the first production 4-door sedan to break the 8-minute barrier on Germany’s renowned Nürburgring’s Nordschleife race course.  In 2009, the CTS-V will reign over the world’s top sports sedans.

With a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine and a staggering 551 lb-ft of torque available at 3800 rpm, this super-sedan is capable of 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds.  Even at a breakneck pace, the CTS-V remains steady thanks to the use of the Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) shock absorbers.  The MRC uses a magnetically reactive fluid that instantaneously changes viscosity at incredible speeds, resulting in the graceful ride you expect from a Cadillac.

For the first time, the 2009 CTS-V offers the option between a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission and the 6-piston front, 4-piston rear Brembo braking system that has been developed to specifically handle this type of power allowing a 60 to 0 mph stop in 117 feet.
