Venzactly What You’re Looking For
Inside Toyota’s newest creation, the 2009 Venza.

Early 2009 marks the introduction of a new brand of Toyota. Capitalizing on that which has always made Toyota special and embracing the new era of versatility, adaptability and capability, the 2009 Venza is primed to shake up the industry. Toyota’s newest creation is like nothing they’ve ever produced before. It’s almost as if they’ve combined the best features from their award winning sedans and SUVs into one, unmistakable crossover hatchback.

With powerful, contemporary styling highlighted by chrome accents, available 20-inch five-spoke alloys, panoramic glass, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps and integrated foglamps, the 2009 Venza is certainly aggressive, definitely appealing and potentially groundbreaking.

The 2009 Toyota Venza is about more than mere aesthetics. Sure, it looks good, but form is nothing without function. In fact, every facet of Toyota’s latest introduction was sculpted with aerodynamics and fuel efficiency in mind. Sure, notice that the lines are sleek, beveled and ultra-modern, but also notice that the rounded edges, angled windshield, rear spoiler and “pinched” rear taillamps serve a distinct purpose. All have been specifically incorporated to cut wind resistance, increase fuel economy and provide a smooth, unencumbered driving experience.

Subtle touches, from recessed windshield wipers to a lowered and sculpted front bumper to the rear underbody diffuser, continue Toyota’s unprecedented attention to detail and craftsmanship, as well as their emphasis on peak efficiency.

Nowhere is this efficiency more evident than in the Venza’s engine compartment where Toyota offers a choice of powerful and supremely economical engines (both controlled by a six-speed automatic overdrive transmission with intelligence). Start with the base 2.7-liter DOHC four-cylinder, which delivers an impressive 182 hp along with smooth, firm acceleration and an exceptional 29 mpg highway.

Need more? Venza’s spirited 3.5-liter DOHC V6 delivers similar smooth, responsive power and generates a vigorous 268 hp. Constructed from lightweight aluminum, the V6 goes from zero-to-60 mph in 6.7 seconds and tows 3,500 pounds.

Keeping it all in check, a four-wheel independent MacPherson strut suspension ensures a smooth ride over tough terrain while an electric power steering system provides precise, effortless handling. A standard power-assisted, antilock brake system gives the Venza unparalleled stopping power while an available active torque control all-wheel drive system provides sure footing and powerful, confident traction in any condition.

With its low step-in height, it’s easy to think of the 2009 Venza as something of a luxury hatchback, but the sheer amount of crossover space within it quickly dispels such a label. In fact, seating in the Venza is remarkably spacious, comfortable and innovative. Available leather-trimmed seats feature eight-way power adjustability. Forty inches of room separate front and rear seats, which are positioned higher and also recline for more comfort and a better view.

Venza drivers experience a commanding and exceptional view of the road due to the higher seat height, compact front end and ergonomically maximized line of sight. This leads to an almost SUV-like presence and a far more confident driving experience.

In addition to the tranquil elegance offered by the available mahogany trim and dual-zone climate control, the Venza’s cabin places some of the most advanced comforts and innovations at your fingertips. An available voice-activated touchscreen DVD navigation system puts the world in front of you and works in synergy with the available JBL Synthesis surround-sound system. With in-dash CD, satellite radio and MP3 capability, the JBL system streams exceptional sound through 13 smartly placed speakers.

Additional options such as an integrated backup camera, rear-seat DVD entertainment system and Bluetooth wireless connectivity ensure that the 2009 Venza is as modern inside as it is out. Folding rear seats, intelligently incorporated storage options and a generous rear cargo area boost versatility and capability to entirely new heights (up to 70 cubic feet of storage space).

The Venza’s Star Safety System (comprised of stability and traction control, as well as various braking systems) highlights a list of features that puts Toyota’s latest head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to safety. Additionally, a vast array of airbags, (front, side, side-curtain and knee), as well as active headrests, side-impact door beams and front and rear energy absorbing crumple zones ensure that the Venza’s safety systems are second to none.

In the 2009 Venza, the sensibility, reliability and efficiency that has always characterized Toyota is now joined by the versatility and flexibility that a new generation of drivers demands. Truly, it has been built to fit your life and your budget. The 2009 Venza features a starting MSRP of just $25,975.
