Richard T. (Dick) Fryer,
ABR, DREI, MBA, long known in the real estate community as an industry leader
in Central Florida, was given the opportunity to shine at the Orlando Regional
Realtor Associations (ORRA) annual Showcase Awards held at the Ritz-Carlton
January 24, as he was presented with the 2003 Realtor® of the Year Award,
the highest esteemed honor bestowed on a member. The Realtor® of the Year
Award recognizes a member of the Association who has demonstrated the highest
degree of commitment and professionalism.
Fryer, who is President
of IFREC Real Estate Schools, has participated in a wide array of activities
in the real estate industry since graduating in 1971 from Florida State University.
He has taught real estate-related courses since 1978 and has personally instructed
thousands of students over the past 25 years.
He is a past president of
ORRA and, over the years, has served on subcommittees and participated in workshops
for the Florida Real Estate Commission.
Fryer is frequently called upon to review textbooks for Dearborn Financial Publishing
Company. He is also actively sought as a dynamic guest speaker and an expert
witness in real estate litigation.
In May 2003, Fryer helped
ORRA spearhead the opportunity to give members a head start on fulfilling their
mandatory ethics training. Over a four-day period, Fryer personally instructed
3,998 Realtors® who had yet to fulfill this nationally mandated requirement
for membership compliance.
Most recently, Fryer was awarded the 2002 Educator of the Year by Florida Association
of Realtors® (FAR) and was appointed to the National Advisory Board of the
Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC).
In June 2002, he was elected
President of the Real Estate Educators Association, which is an international
trade association for real estate educators and also serves as the Region 12
Vice President of FAR and is also a Director for the National Association of
Realtors®.
Fryer currently serves on
the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerces Leadership
Alumni Board of Directors and serves as a Leadership
Steward.
