Luncheon a Huge Success

Over 900 people, including players, coaches and community leaders, packed a room at the Rosen Centre Hotel last Friday for a Chamber Trustees Community Luncheon. The luncheon was a “community pep rally” for tonight’s Mazda Tangerine Bowl, to honor the Clemson Tigers and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Mazda Tangerine Bowl Luncheon has become a pre-season tradition. It’s always an exciting event that allows our community an opportunity to come together and cheer on visiting communities.

During the luncheon the teams were introduced and then seated among the crowd. Attendees had the opportunity to talk to the players one-on-one during lunch. In addition, Scholar Athlete awards were presented to one player from each team.

The program included game analysis from ESPN sportscaster Jerry Punch and coaches comments from Tommy Bowden, Head Coach, Clemson University and Mike Leach, Head Coach, Texas Tech University.

The game will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. (EST) tonight at the Citrus Bowl and will be televised by ESPN. '
