JA in a DAY
Picture yourself in a conversation
with your six-year-old child. The two of you have been running errands, and a
stop at the grocery store lands you in front of the "Kittens: Free to Good
Home" display just outside the store. Predictably the conversation goes like
this, "But I need a kitten, I just have to have a kitten." You are left
trying to figure out how to avoid adding a pet to your family.
Junior Achievement is passionate people
inspiring kids to learn the economics of life through free enterprise education.
And believe it or not, "needs versus wants (or food versus kittens)
is one of the foundations to teaching children about free enterprise.
Leadership Alumni and Leadership Orlando are excited about participating in "JA
in a Day" on October 15 at Catalina Elementary School. Area business leaders
will spend one day with a class of students presenting the JA curriculum and helping
those kids take their first step into the business world.
Small children like to do things by themselves, but as children grow, they discover
that our society our economy depends on people working together.
It all starts with the people with whom they live, then expands to their city,
their region, and then their country.
If you would like to spend a day with Leadership and Junior Achievement, click
here to download a registration form. So you can be fully prepared for the
experience, JA staff will lead a two-hour training and orientation session. Choose
to attend the training on October 8 at Catalina Elementary (2:30 PM - 4:30 PM)
or the training on October 10 at the Junior
Achievement office (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.)
Let your success be their inspiration!
