Vehicle Profile: 2017 Ford Flex
The 2017 Ford Flex balances high performance with exceptional control

The 2017 Ford Flex balances extraordinary performance with remarkable control. The crossover SUV provides plenty of interior room for both passengers and cargo—the standard seven-passenger seating includes first-row bucket seats, a second row 60/40 split bench seat and a 50/50 split bench third-row seat. Up to 83.2 cubic feet of storage space is possible by folding flat both rear seats. A six-passenger seating option is possible in the 2017 Ford Flex.

The 2017 Ford Flex starts with an initial MSRP of $30,025. Additional trim levels for the Ford Flex include the SE, the SEL and the Limited.

Performance capabilities

A heavy load is no match for the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine, which delivers adequate torque and power for substantial hauls. Available on the Limited, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine comes with a six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission with paddle shifters and supplies 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The standard Advance Trac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) and available intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) are two control features provided by the Ford Flex. Continuous monitoring of throttle position, steering angle and wheel speed is handled by the available AWD. This modern technology is designed to keep the Ford Flex controlled on a range of surfaces.  AWD is standard on the Limited when outfitted with the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost® Engine and available on the SEL and Limited.

Performance technology

The responsive, user-friendly, voice-activated technology of the available SYNC®3 involves a smartphone-like touchscreen and an elegant interface to help connect drivers to their smartphones. SYNC® is standard on all models, while the Limited model offers an available Audio System by Sony® featuring 390 watts, 12 premium speakers and a subwoofer.

Engineered to use less energy, the available high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps last longer than traditional halogen bulbs, generate more than two times the output and come standard on the Limited.

Helpful features

Available Active Park Assist takes the hassle out of parallel parking. Once activated, this feature scans for available parking spots; ultrasonic sensors calculate the space between parked cars and the curb. Even with this feature, the driver is always in command of braking, accelerating and shifting the vehicle.

The 2017 Ford Flex also features a power liftgate that can be activated by pressing a button on the interior or on the key fob. Unlock the doors and start the car easily with the available Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start. Standard in the Flex is MyKey® technology allowing two members of a household to have individualized programmable keys that document each person’s set special settings.

The high performance capability of the 2017 Ford Flex is wonderfully complimented by its control technologies offering drivers a powerful yet smooth driving experience.
