Join the OC Delegation Headed to D.C. this March
The Orange County Business Council invites you to participate in OCBC’s 2007 Trip to Washington, D.C.! Join Chairman Dan Miller of The Irvine Company, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle, and a delegation of business leaders convening in Washington, D.C. to promote the issues that matter most to the business community. OCBC in the News!
The February 22 edition of the Orange County Register featured an opinion editorial written by OCBC President and CEO, Lucy Dunn. Prompted by Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman Chris Norby's State of the County address, Ms. Dunn's editorial calls attention to workforce and housing trends that must be addressed if Orange County is to remain a vital place to live and work. In addition, the Register featured an interview with OCBC's Vice Chair of Workforce Development, Chris Harrington, on February 21. Sell-out Crowd Attends Third Annual Business/Education Forum
More than 300 business leaders and educators attended Tuesday's third annual Business/Education Forum, jointly presented by OCBC and the Orange County Department of Education. The event featured Dr. Wallace Walrod, who delivered an overview of demographic trends that affect education and workforce development in Orange County, and County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. William Habermehl, delivered the 2007 State of Education address for Orange County. OCBC's Vice Chair of Workforce Development, Chris Harrington of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., emceed the sold-out event, the most successful Business/Education Forum to date.

The Orange County Business Council's annual advocacy trip to Sacramento has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 17 through Wednesday, April 18, 2007. OCBC staff is scheduling meetings with key legislators and planning all the details. OCBC President and CEO to Testify Before CTC
OCBC President and CEO, Lucy Dunn, will testify before the California Transportation Commission on Wednesday, February 28, when the CTC convenes at the Irvine City Hall. Ms. Dunn will testify to the need for more transportation funds from Sacramento, helping ensure that Orange County gets its fair share of tax revenue from Proposition 1B.
