If you earned less than $40,000 in 2007 there is a Federal credit called the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) that can return up to $4,716 to your family.  Free tax preparation assistance to help you claim the credit and for anyone earning less than $50,000 in 2007 is available through the City of Irvine EITC Outreach Program.  Two sessions of classes are being offered, the first beginning January 15.  To make an appointment or learn more call (888) 434-8248.
