As we Celebrate our 37th Anniversary, Rob Halderson Celebrates his 15th Anniversary with Oak Lawn Toyota; Sharing his Passion for Life and the Automobile Business

Rob Halderson has been an exemplary member of the Oak Lawn Toyota team for 15 years.

This year, 2008, marks my 15th year at Oak Lawn Toyota.  It has been a wonderful 15 years surrounded by an outstanding staff of professional people and lifelong friends.  When I arrive each day I don't feel like I'm "at work," I feel like I am where I want to be.  It is such a great feeling looking forward to seeing the people I care about; both co-workers and clients alike.  I have found the place I hope to retire.

Is Western Medicine as Steady as a Rock or Does it Just Have a Chip On Its Shoulder?
Finally, after 5,000 years, Qigong makes its point with gentle persuasion.

It only took 5,000 years to catch on in the West, but now that it’s gaining momentum, Qigong is here to stay and spreading like wildfire throughout medical and rehabilitation communities alike. Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) consists of gentle movements and various meditations designed to massage internal organs, balance and strengthen the body’s energies, relax the mind and improve the body’s circulation. Qigong techniques ignite the body’s natural wellbeing and healing ability.

This Is For When Your Eyes Are Done Smilin’
Here are a few Irish films for St. Patty’s Day…or the day after.

Going out or staying in, or going out then staying in–whatever you do, include these films this St. Patty’s Day. The Irish and their descendents, the Irish-Americans, are the subjects of many important and entertaining films that deserve toasting this St. Patrick’s Day. Irish themes, characters and stories appear in films made in England, Australia, the United States and Ireland, of course. When it comes to groups, the perspective of some filmmakers may be somewhat different from the perspectives of the subjects of the film. Film produced in Ireland is far less quaint and stereotyped than film about Ireland produced elsewhere. This is true of filming most any culture outside its borders.

Fondue—It’s Fun To Do!
A popular dish for dinner parties in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, fondue is making a fast comeback.

As the saying goes, “everything old is new again,” and this warm cheese dish is making appearances at parties everywhere. It’s not necessarily cheese – variations of the dish come in the form of broths, desserts and fonduta. Whichever way you like it, it’s guaranteed to be delicious!

Because When the Sun Goes Down, the Food Chain Inverts
Five “must-have” items when out in the wild.

The first thing to consider when in the wild overnight is obviously the ability to see. The hands-free Petzl Tactikka XP Adapt headlamp (retailing for about $65) goes a few steps farther with filters for nighttime visibility and new mounting options. Red, green and blue filters aid your ability to see in the dark without experiencing night blindness. Its handy cover mechanism lets you easily swap out the filter of your choice over the powerful LED. For added versatility, the lamp can be removed from its head strap and mounted to clip to a belt, hat brim or pack strap. Its hearty plastic housing is highly water-resistant, and a three-color battery charge indicator eliminates battery-life guesswork. It provides a whopping 120 hours of light and the powerful one-watt LED never requires replacement. The slide-away diffuser lens cover changes beam shape from spotlight to area light and offers four light modes: maximum, optimum, economy and flashing strobe.
