NYSSA Members Receive 15% Discount on Executive MS in Financial Statement Analysis Program

NYSSA has partnered with Baruch College to offer all members a 15% discount on their Executive MS program in Financial Statement Analysis.

The Executive MS in Financial Statement Analysis program is designed to provide executive students with cutting edge knowledge that will aid their professional career. The program’s emphasis is on relevance, academic quality and intellectual rigor. Financial statement analysis and security valuation is a major industry with employment opportunities in the tri-state area as well as nationally.

Program Highlights

  • A distinctive 10-month, 10-course, 33-credit accelerated specialized program with emphasis on quality and rigor
  • An interdisciplinary approach by combining knowledge from accounting & finance
  • Specialization in financial disclosures and securities (equity and fixed income) valuation
  • Key features include dedicated core and advanced courses in a range of functional areas in accounting and finance
  • Prepares executives for the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) exams
  • Allows financial professionals to integrate their career demands with graduate work

Program Goals

  • Understand and analyze financial statements of corporations
  • Master the fundamental economic techniques for valuing financial assets.
  • Provide an interdisciplinary approach to the study of financial markets and the valuation of financial assets.
  • Apply quantitative methods and economic theory to the analysis and management of financial asset portfolios.
  • Develop a broad understanding of the micro, macro and international trends that influence the values of financial assets and the evolution of financial markets.

Baruch’s rigorous curriculum is designed for experienced working executives. While an average work experience of five years is desirable, this is not a program requirement. The program facilitates team-based learning by having students take classes with a cohort of peers from diverse backgrounds where students learn in an intense, exhilarating climate of discussion and debate across various topics.

Students also have the opportunity to gain valuable insights and to share experiences with fellow executives while obtaining direct one-on-one coaching and consultation with a highly qualified faculty. The curriculum consists of a broad array of courses in financial accounting, finance, economics, and quantitative methods.

Deadline for registration is Saturday, August 15, 2009.
