On October 28, 2008, CFA Institute sent the formal invitation to Fordham’s Bachelor of Science in Finance to join its Partnership program. Fordham’s addition to the Partnership program will add yet another top tier university to the already impressive list of global universities.
CFA Institute partners with a limited number of globally diverse, select institutions whose degree programs cover a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge™, including the ethical and professional standards. These universities are recognized leaders and serve as role models for other institutions. Partnerships are considered on a case-by-case basis. Simply meeting the application requirements is not sufficient to achieve a partnership. CFA Institute takes a deeper look at the leadership and service of the applicant. Other criteria used to assess potential partners include accreditation, specific semester hours dedicated to topics covered in the Global Body of Knowledge, and more.
This initiative was launched in April 2006 with the announcement of the University of Oxford's Master of Financial Economics program as the first CFA Program Partner. To date, CFA Institute has a total of 73 partners in 22 countries.
