The 2009 Buick Lucerne Is a Full-Size Helping of Luxury
The lavishing, ravishing Lucerne does comfort American-style.

The 2009 Buick Lucerne interprets luxury without the pretension you usually end up paying for dearly. It’s designed for American tastes and preferences. The Lucerne is about understated beauty, state-of-the-art performance and luxury.

The 2009 Buick Lucerne does beautiful and elegant like John Wayne did strong and manly. It’s handsome and athletic, a machine that won’t let you down. From the signature chrome Buick grille past the available heated, power-adjustable, side mirrors, the Lucerne is remarkably clean and refined in approach and execution.

Subtle fender arches, sharp chrome molding and dual exhaust frame the sleek, simple lines that flow effortlessly from the graceful front to the nicely tapered rear. Available foglamps, side-fender portholes and an aerodynamic rear lip give the Lucerne a classic look that harkens back to the days of Electra 225 panache.

Beyond mere aesthetics, there’s an underlying strength in the Lucerne found just beneath its hood in the form of Buick’s available 4.6-liter Northstar V8. Smooth and powerful with 292 hp, the V8 is available on the 2009 Lucerne Super model. Lucerne’s other models feature an impressive and very efficient 3.9-liter FlexFuel V6 for those who demand exceptional performance and insist upon unrivaled fuel economy. Both distribute power to the front wheels through an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. Achieving an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway, Buick Lucerne makes the most of a gallon of gas.

A full-range traction control system actively detects and limits wheel spin as GM’s highly regarded StabiliTrak system keeps you in control and on track. Simultaneously, power magnetic steering and an integrated four-wheel comfort-tuned independent suspension create an exceedingly smooth, confident and nearly effortless ride.

The Lucerne interpretation of luxury is best appreciated from its roomy, quiet and impeccably designed cabin. The seats are spacious, heated and cooled in some models, swathed in leather (with suede inserts), and full power adjustability is available except on the CX trim. Expertly crafted accents and beautiful walnut trim set off Lucerne’s softly sculpted dash and console. Dual-zone automatic climate control and air filtration systems condition cabin air and isolate it from any contamination outside. The Lucerne seats five and offers a generous 17 cubic feet of trunk space.

The Quiet-Tuned cabin of the Lucerne insulates the inside from noise, vibration, harshness and road noise. A quiet cabin enhances the enjoyment of onboard infotainment systems and helps you reach your destination with less fatigue. Occupants enjoy the latest in cabin technologies and innovations. While some luxury cars present you with enough switchgear to operate a U-Boat, Lucerne employs an ergonomic, form-follows-function approach to controls. For example, instead of buttons, dials and multi-layered screens, Lucerne provides the OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation system, an unavailable convenience on rival brands. The Lucerne removes worries over what you cannot see. With available ultrasonic rear parking assist, as well as side blind-zone and lane departure alerts, the Lucerne driver maneuvers with confidence. The systems coordinate strategically placed sensors that actively monitor your vehicle’s position in relation to other vehicles and objects, helping you avoid dangerous situations. Should the unthinkable occur, the Buick Lucerne is built to protect you and your loved ones to which the Lucerne’s five-star crash safety ratings attest.

As for entertainment, an available nine-speaker, 280-watt harman/kardon premium audio system with steering wheel-mounted controls takes full advantage of the Lucerne’s incredibly quiet and brilliantly engineered cabin and features CD/MP3 playback and XM Satellite Radio including XM Nav/Traffic reports when you specify the navigation system option. Bluetooth compatibility instantly rigs your cell phone for hands-free operation. Additional features such as an available remote vehicle starter, two-driver memory presets and power sunroof add convenience and enjoyment to the Lucerne experience.

The vehicle has beauty, brains, heart and soul. What about affordability? The 2009 Buick Lucerne features a starting MSRP of $30,030. Now that’s the value of luxury done American-style. Come see why J.D. Power and Associates ranked Buick highest (in a tie for first) in their latest dependability study (three-year dependability).
