Modern Toyota Helps Forsyth Tech Bring Jobs to Triad
Forsyth Tech's new Transportation Technolgy Center opens in Winston-Salem.


Forsyth Tech Community College held the official opening for its new, state-of-the-art Transportation Technology Center on January 17 in Winston-Salem. Hundreds were on hand to celebrate the opening of the 122,500 sq. ft. facility which will enable the college to train students in five transportation-related programs. Modern Toyota, along with SouthEast Toyota, donated material to help finish the project. The center is certified to train Toyota technicians and will employ many people as a result. Richard Childress was also on hand as a significant donor to the center.

Modern Toyota Employee Attains U.S. Citizenship
Following a lot of effort, Nelson Martinez is finally an American citizen.


Congratulations to Nelson Martinez for recently attaining his American citizenship. In mid-December, he completed the final step in becoming an official U.S. citizen in a ceremony in Charlotte. Having come to America from Guatemala in 1989, he first lived in New York before moving to Winston-Salem in 2002. Nelson joined Modern Toyota in September, 2003 and keeps the inventory lot in great shape. Known for his hard work and friendliness, he especially enjoys helping people whether at work or in his neighborhood. He is married and has three daughters. Nelson says, he always tries to be the best he can be, and he loves God with all of his heart.

Modern Toyota's General Manager Places Second in Lexus Golf Tournament
Omnia Fowler's golf team comes in second place in national golf tournament.


Omnia Fowler, General Manager of Modern Toyota, and his team partner, David Palmer of AutoTrader.com, recently played in the 2011 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship held in Pebble Beach, California. The 3-round tournament featured 179 2-man teams, and Fowler's team placed second overall winning $8,000 for the Boys & Girls Club! The annual event raised a total in excess of $1.6 million dollars for charities across the country. Toyota is the parent company of Lexus.

Stacy is a founding member of Sally's Angels, a local organization that serves families with critically and chronically ill children in the Triad Area. She helps facilitate donations for families to help with power bills, groceries, rent, medical supplies or anything else they need since their children are ill. Sally's Angels is a strictly volunteer organization and has no paid employees. Stacy is an amazing volunteer and makes a difference for families when they are faced with no hope.
