Local WWII Vet Honored by French Government
Ralph Logan receives the highest medal of honor from France.
World War II veteran, Ralph Logan, was invited to the State Capitol in Raleigh on Feb. 28 where he received the Legion of Honor medal from the French government. The Legion of Honor is the highest medal of honor bestowed by France. Ralph was in the 75th Infantry Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in eastern France. He was wounded in the war but considers himself fortunate to have survived. Ralph was one of several WWII veterans whom Modern Toyota sponsored through the recent Triad Flights of Honor. Congratulations, Ralph, and thank you for your brave service to our country!

Modern Toyota Supports Big Brothers/Sisters Bowl4Kids
Annual fundraiser collects over $223K for Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
On Feb. 25 and Mar. 3, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of NC held their Annual Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser at the AMF Lanes in Winston-Salem. Over 1000 bowlers came together to raise money to help provide kids with a mentor and friend through the BB/BS program. Modern Toyota was pleased to help support the event through a financial donation and a bowling team of employees. The event surpassed its total fundraising goal of $215,000!

Modern Automotive Selects April Citizen of the Month
Lynn Kanode is Modern's newest worthy Citizen of the Month.
Lynn Kanode has volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for 14 years. In fact, she started the annual Walk for Wishes event which is now held at Tanglewood Park. She is also currently the Vice-President of the Kids of Childhood Cancer Foundation. The foundation raises funds to assist families with children who are undergoing cancer treatment at Brenner's Children's Hospital. Lynn also works with the Olive Garden restaurant who donates meals to the families on a regular basis. Modern Automotive is donating $1,000 to the Kids of Childhood Cancer Foundation in Lynn's honor.
