A near-capacity crowd of alumni and students filled the Grand Salon at the 3 West Club in New York on Thursday, May 1 to hear a panel of real estate industry leaders assess the current status of the commercial real estate market. Developed in cooperation with the MIT Alumni Club of New York and the Alumni Association of the Center for Real Estate (AACRE), the popular program was the kick-off to this year’s New York City Trek, the MIT/CRE’s highly anticipated annual investigation of the nation’s commercial real estate center.

Entrepreneur Roberto Arista '96 and his banker Janet Spencer established a remarkably rewarding and successful business partnership — so much so that they regularly visit the Center to give students an inside look at its day-to-day workings. Their presentation series "The Entrepreneur and His Banker" is now in its 4th year, and details the evolution of their working relationship, the growth of his companies, and the mechanics of financing in good markets and bad.
