THANK YOU!
A Shout of Thanks to our Alums!

I want to extend a very personal thank you to all of you who supported the Center during this past Spring term – and what better way to do so than to name those who gave so generously of themselves:
The Center's fiscal year ended on June 30th, and this "mid-year end" gives me a The Center's fiscal year ended on June 30th, and this "mid-year end" gives me achance to thank again those alumni/ae who helped make our Spring '08 semester such a success.

During this past semester, nearly 140 alums – almost 20% of our graduates – provided crucial assistance with our programs, and in a whole host of ways:

·        In the classroom. Serving as teaching assistants, helping guide thesis preparation, sharing general and professional expertise, and offering essential coordination for our ambitious and hugely successful IAP International Trip to Dubai, Istanbul, and London.
·        In Professional Development. Helping to provide career services, and performing vital coordination for the New York Trek.
·        As Alumni/ae Connectors. Working with a current student to serve as a point of connection to the alumni/ae network and to others in the real estate industry.
·        At Alumni/ae Symposia. Doing the legwork both in NYC (including visits to various financial institutions and our traditional trip to McSorleys) and in May's Faculty Club event.
·        As Alumni/ae Host Volunteers. Putting a "face" on the alumni community for prospective applicants.
·        As Coordinator for the AACRE in San Francisco, CA.
·        As participants in our Seoul, Korea meetings.
·        On the AACRE Steering Committee.
·        As 2007–2008 Donors.

MIT/CRE uses all available resources to bring our students the fullest understanding of the art and science of real estate. We seek creative applications – both inside the classroom and out – that instill a desire to improve the built environment socially, economically, and aesthetically.

But we can't do it alone. Our graduates are an essential part of our mission, helping us cultivate the enormous potential in our industry to improve the world by developing better real estate.

(Whenever you list the people who are important to you – especially if there are many – it seems inevitable that you will miss someone, and often someone right in front of you. Please accept in advance my apology for any omission!)

There are many ways that you alums can spend your time, talents, and resources, but you've chosen to invest them in the Center for Real Estate.

Doing so, you've given back to your community by "paying forward" to the students who will follow you. Both they and we are deeply grateful. Your efforts increase immeasurably the value of the Center and its mission.

Thank you. You've made all the difference!
