The program makes the MIT/CRE more accessible to, and promotes a favorable image with, prospective applicants.

Prospective applicants attach a current resume as an introduction and to facilitate the discussion. The prospective applicants is then be referred by the program facilitator to a designated regional alumni host in order to receive answers to questions, and get a personal perspective from the alumni host relative to the alumni's position/career path and why the MIT/CRE has been important to that path. The format of the exchange could be a personal meeting or telephonic discussion, at the alumni host's discretion and based on locational factors. The Alumni Host coordinates with the program facilitator to confirm that contact has been made with the prospective applicant.
