MIT/CRE's Global Vision

All of the Center's research and education initiatives are driven by a unifying vision -- to bring the best that science and experience can offer to the real estate development process for the betterment of the world. Especially now, at the beginning of the 21st century, as we face problems of increasing global complexity, the real estate industry has enormous potential to improve humankind's quality of life through the development of better real estate practices.

The Center seeks to cultivate in all its members -- from students and graduates, to researchers and partners -- the wisdom and creativity necessary to find long-term solutions to pressing problems.

Improving the world by building better real estate is our goal. Integrating science and art, technology and management, we seek to educate the next generations of leaders in the real estate industry, build the industry's tools of tomorrow, and influence the development of better real estate worldwide.

Our vision is large. To fulfill it, we must cut across the traditional boundaries in academia and industry, and harness the imaginations of everyone in our community. We seek the best that science and practice can offer to serve both the real estate industry and the world.
