FEATURED PROJECT
The Spire by MIT/CRE graduate Randy Nichols '89
web.mit.edu/cre

On May 15, 2007, Denver developer and MIT/CRE graduate Randy Nichols '89 broke ground on The Spire, a $175 million, 41-story project designed to be the tallest residential tower between Chicago and Las Vegas. Opening in 2009 across from the Colorado Convention Center, the Spire will stand 483-feet tall, and will include 503 condos with 10-foot ceilings, and 602 covered parking spaces. It will be a "green" or environmentally friendly building, with a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) designation. Read more: download article (pdf, 33K) or view online.

ALUMNI/AE BUDDIES
Would you like to be an alumni/ae buddy?

For the 2006-2007 academic year we started a new program called "Alumni/ae Buddies".      I am inviting alums to be a point of contact, a "touchstone" for a member of the entering class.  During the initial contact the buddy could be a sounding board for the student's resume.  You could also be a resource in the development class or a bridge to another alum or real estate professional that you think might be helpful in some way.  Each alum will be assigned one student.  The idea is for the students to get an immediate sense and appreciation for the wonderful alumni/ae network of which they are now a part.  if you are interested in being a "buddy" e-mail me at marionoc@mit.edu and outline any preferences you have, for example, gender, part of the country, area of interest, background.   Thanks!
