SBI-RAZORFISH DEVELOPS WEBSITE FOR GENZYME TO RAISE AWARENESS OF POMPE DISEASE

SBI-Razorfish (www.sbiandcompany.com) a leading professional services firm, announced that it has launched a new community website for Genzyme to educate users about Pompe Disease.  Available at www.pompe.com, the site serves as an online resource for patients and families who live with the disease, and for health care professionals who treat it.

Pompe Disease is a rare and sometimes fatal muscle disease which arises from an inherited deficiency of an enzyme known as acid alpha-glucosidase (GAA).  Based on the available data, researchers have estimated that the disease occurs in approximately 1 in 40,000 live births worldwide. Currently, there is no cure for Pompe Disease.

After developing their online educational strategy for Pompe Disease, Genzyme turned to SBI to design and develop www.pompe.com.  The site provides comprehensive information to users about the disease, as well as resources and support to help manage the challenges associated with it.  Specific sections of the site cater to the differing needs of patients, families, and health care professionals.
