Volvo Gives the 2009 S80 the Swedish Massage Treatment
Make your commute a stimulating experience!

As the Volvo flagship sedan, you expect the 2009 S80 to be quick, comfortable and safe. What you might not expect is the prospect of a Swedish massage! No, a stern Scandinavian masseuse is not hiding under those classy hides, but an ingenious system only a Volvo engineer could have developed.

The special front seats come standard in the 2009 Volvo S80 Executive model along with a sumptuous makeover of cabin materials in three color schemes including the use of soft leather trim on the center console, which also gets a sliding aluminum cover. Aluminum trim is used on the panel surrounding the gear lever as well. In addition, the S80 Executive offers optional twin eight-inch LCD screens built into the rear of the front seat headrests for the entertainment of passengers.

In addition to heat and ventilation, the front seat massage chairs have a fascinating system that works by sequentially inflating and deflating five pockets of air built into the seat to create a wave-like motion. Lower back tension and stiffness seem to melt away. It’s a wonderful therapy for the stressed.

The Volvo S80 Executive also receives an exclusive analog clock set into the wood inlay on the instrument panel. Additional ambient lighting graces the door panels, storage compartments and cupholders adjacent to the front seat.

Those of us who don’t get to ride Executive Class still get an S80 with impressive luxury and distinction.

The Volvo S80 3.2 is powered by an inline six-cylinder engine with 235 hp. The S80 T6 gets the turbocharge six that puts out 281 hp. The S80 V8 is Volvo's first V8-powered sedan, and it develops 311 hp. The S80 use a standard six-speed "Geartronic" transmission.

Available on all models is Volvo's Navigation System with Real Time Traffic. Another family favorite is the optional dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system with new eight-inch screens nicely positioned in the rear of the front seat headrests.

New is the Collision Avoidance Package which includes a wide range of technologies to help keep the driver and passengers out of harm's way. This package includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Warning with Brake Support (CWAB), Distance Alert (DA), Driver Alert Control (DAC) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

Driving any one of the 2009 Volvo S80 models is a pleasure worthy of self-indulgence, a reward for achievement and a statement of success. We urge you to inspect the 2009 Volvo S80 luxury sedans and experience the highest level of refinement ever found in a Volvo.
