If you're new to the MicroFarm newsletter, here's what we do. Every so often we develop a new do-it-yourself hydroponics project. Last issue we built the MicroFarm Cabinet. The cabinet was a freestanding cupboard that efficiently grew plants using two AirFarm hydroponic growers and three compact florescent lamps. The results were great, and so was the fan mail. (…and the orders for the AirFarm – thanks guys!)
In this issue, you're going to see the cabinet again, this time with a much simpler project – a raft garden. This project is so simple that if you haven't seen it already, you're bound to slap your forehead and say, "why didn't I think of that!"
We'll take you through this simple, but effective project step-by-step.
If you haven't ordered an AirFarm yet – or even if you have, do check out our article on winter growing. For some of us in the northern hemisphere, the temperature is quite cold today. Here in Boston, it is currently just above 0 degrees F, and our tomato plants are beginning to emerge.
This is also the time of year that the seed catalogers start mailing catalogs.
And, for us hydroponickers, when the seeds arrive it's time to start gardening… indoors.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, complaints, or thoughts, please share them with us by sending an email to info@microfarm.com
Thanks for reading, and Happy 2003!
