U.S. Venture-backed companies raised $1.2 billion in 13 IPOs in Q1 2007, with technology companies leading the way. On the M&A front, the number of deals was slighlty down from 2006 levels, but deal sizes jumped by 11%, with total reported M&A proceeds matching levels reached in the 4th quarter of 2000.
