United Way Gets Boost
by Herald Staff Report

CLINTON — A pair of large donations have helped the United Way of Clinton County reach 106 percent of the organization’s fund-raising goal for the fall 2011 campaign. McEleney’s AutoCenter, in conjunction with its corporate Toyota Partners, and Data Dimensions each donated more than $12,000.

A news release from the United Way confirms that around $595,000 has been raised so far in the campaign.

“The United Way is such an important, worthy organization for our community,” said McEleney AutoCenter President John McEleney in the statement. “We are pleased Toyota has contributed to address the need in this area.”

McEleney AutoCenter’s contribution of $12,150 was made up of a $7,150 contribution from McEleney AutoCenter and the company’s employees, and a $5,000 contribution from Toyota North America.

Data Dimensions, a local technology company, donated $12,071 to the United Way. Both corporate and employee donations contributed to this amount.

“Data Dimensions Corporation believes in giving back to the community by supporting United Way and we are pleased to provide this contribution,” said Misty Nixon, Data Dimensions operations manager, in a statement.

The United Way funds 15 partner agencies to ensure that area residents have access to a quality education, a job capable of supporting a family, and good health with support and services for those in dire circumstances or that need long-term support to achieve self-sufficiency.
