Vehicle Profile: The 2012 GMC Yukon Denali
Fly first-class.

“Denali” is the GMC name for a rare blend of power, style and capability. The 2012 GMC Yukon Denali can seat up to eight passengers and provide space for their cargo while also towing a trailer, all in sophisticated Denali luxury.

The 2012 Yukon Denali line (MSRP starting at $55,010) is the top of a Yukon range that also includes Yukon Denali Hybrid and long-wheelbase Yukon XL Denali models. With its signature honeycomb chrome grille, monochromatic trim and 20-inch wheels all gracing the exterior, the Yukon Denali is easy to spot. A variety of 20-inch and massive 22-inch wheels are available, as is a sunroof. A power-operated liftgate is standard, and the remote start system is a welcome addition, too.

A luxurious, supremely quiet leather interior pampers passengers. Heated and cooled perforated front seats are standard, along with heated second-row captains’ chairs and a heated steering wheel. A 60/40-split/folding second-row bench seat is available for those seeking eight-passenger seating. Both types of second-row seats feature GM-exclusive power fold-and-tumble operation for easy, one-hand access to the third row. Front passengers can stretch out with more front leg- and headroom than the Infiniti QX. A standard touch-screen navigation system with 30GB of music storage means you’ll never make a wrong turn, and all occupants will enjoy the 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround sound system. For long road trips, you’ll want to add the available rear-seat DVD entertainment system with eight-inch screen.

The Yukon Denali can swallow up to 108.9 cubic feet of cargo behind the front seats and tow up to 8,300 pounds, dwarfing the 83.1 cubic foot cargo capacity and 7,000-pound towing capacity of the Lexus LX.

Power for the Yukon Denali is provided by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces best-in-class 403 hp and 417 lb/ft of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission. Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management, which deactivates four cylinders under certain low-load conditions, enable the Yukon Denali to achieve up to 18 mpg highway. The standard Auto Ride Suspension system features a segment exclusive Real Time Damping System that reduces body motion for a more comfortable ride. All-wheel drive is available and provides surefootedness, regardless of weather.

The Yukon Denali comes standard with Bluetooth Handsfree Phone, StabiliTrak electronic stability control and, new for 2012, Electronic Trailer Sway Control and Hill-Start Assist. Denali models also include Side Blind Zone Alert, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist and a Rear Vision Camera to take the guessing out of backing into a tight spot. The OnStar system is onboard and comes standard with six months of the Directions & Connections plan.

All 2012 Yukon Denali models are covered by a five-year/100,000-mile Powertrain/Drivetrain Limited Warranty with Roadside Assistance, plus a three-year/36,000-mile Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty.

Denali models now account for 16 percent of GMC retail sales and it’s no wonder why. The 2012 GMC Yukon Denali delivers a rare blend of power and room for up to eight in total luxury. Contact us today for a test drive, and bring along the family
