Health Net/Maxxis Wins Joe Martin
Health Net presented by Maxxis made it three in a row at Joe Martin, grabbing the title for the third straight year. Rory Sutherland won the overall as well as the individual time trial, and Karl Menzies took first place in the second and fourth stages. The race was held May 11-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Teamwork was the determining factor in Sutherland’s victory, as the crew took the lead at the start of the final stage and repelled repeated attacks. “We were in a similar position last year. We had to defend a thin lead for Gordon Fraser, and we felt we could repeat that this year.

Maxxis’ Forsberg Wins Formula D at Road Atlanta
Going door-handle-to-door-handle with some of the biggest names in drifting, Chris Forsberg took Maxxis’ first Formula D podium with a win May 11-12 at Road Atlanta.
Forsberg qualified second of the top 32 drivers, advancing to victory in the finals through tandem runs of the top 16. He was a clear crowd favorite, with fans chanting his name throughout the event and choosing his Maxxis Tires Nissan 350Z for the Round 2 Meguiar’s Cleanest Drift Award.

Maxxis Sweeps Top 6 at WPSA Round 2
In a clean sweep of the top six, riders on Maxxis tires dominated WPSA’s Round 2, held May 12-13 in Taylorville, Illinois.
After a fierce battle among the top three riders, Team Rockstar/ MSR/ Pro Taper/ Suzuki/ Yoshimura’s Chad Wienen took his first overall pro victory. Wienen gained the lead late in Sunday’s main event, passing teammates Dustin Wimmer of Team MSR/ Pro Taper/ Suzuki/ Yoshimura and Doug Gust of Team Rockstar/ MSR/ Pro Taper/ Suzuki/ Yoshimura.

Maxxis Employee Jeana Norman Makes Cycling a Way of Life
For Jeana Norman, cycling is more than just a weekend pursuit: it’s a career and hobby combined.
Norman, bicycle sponsorship coordinator for Maxxis International, started mountain biking in 1995 and has branched out quite a bit in the years since. “I also enjoy road riding, and I raced a little BMX several years ago. I started out racing cross country, and shortly thereafter, I also began racing dual slalom/mountain cross and some downhill as well,” she told Maxxis.

Rohrer Wins W.E.ROCK Eastern US Nationals
Danny Rohrer went straight to the top of the podium at W.E.ROCK’s Eastern US Nationals #2. Rohrer won the modified class at the event, held May 11-12 in Sequatchie, Tennessee.

Maxxis Takes 8 of Top 10 at John Penton
At the GNCC ATV John Penton, riders on Razr’s went straight to the podium. Maxxis ruled the course, sweeping the top four and taking eight spots in the overall top ten. The race was held May 13 in Millfield, Ohio.
While reigning champ Bill Ballance gave Maxxis its 19th straight holeshot, Chris Borich soon gained the lead.

Naughton Wins 3 0f 4 CORR Races
With a double victory in CORR races held May 19-20, Robert “Fig” Naughton rode his Bighorns to the top of the podium in three of the series’ four events. Naughton swept the weekend, winning Race 3 and Race 4. The races were held in Pomona, California.
“Saturday’s race I just led start to finish, and it was very easy for me. Sunday’s race I was back in the pack. With two laps to go, I passed from third to first.

Hart Wins WSORR Round 2
Marty Hart’s move from rock crawling to the World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) has paid off, as he stormed the podium in the first two races of the season. Hart followed an amazing second place finish in Round 1 with an even more incredible first place in Round 2. The races were held May 19-20 in Owatonna, Minnesota.

TransWorld Motocross Magazine called it “the biggest pit bike race in the world,” and with more than 730 racers from 31 states and 11 countries, the Maxxis Mini Moto SX more than lived up to pre-race hype.
The action took place May 3-4 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, where top riders stepped it up on a specially prepared indoor track.
