McQuaid Wins Record 3rd Xterra World Championship
Melanie McQuaid has won her third Xterra World Championship, a feat unequalled by any other racer. McQuaid’s record-setting title came with her victory in the Nissan Xterra World Championships in Makena, Hawaii, held October 29.

With a final time of 3:07:53, McQuaid’s win was the high point of what Xterraplanet.com called “a stellar season.” Her triumph at Makena was well-earned, as she noted on her website: “Epic, brutal, unforgiving and ‘not fit for man or beast’ are some of the descriptions of this race. Never has this race ever been longer or harder than this year, and I am absolutely stunned to have had the race I did on Sunday."

Maxxis Shines at SEMA
With an indoor booth plus a fantastic outdoor off-road display, Maxxis was a strong presence at the 2006 SEMA Show, held October 31 – November 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The unveiling of the new Ultra High Performance All-Season Z4S, along with presentations of several UHP prototypes, served as an impressive complement to the Maxxis MA-Z1 Victra and MA-V1 UHP products, creating lots of buzz – and heavy traffic.

Maxxis Rolls to the Podium at W.E.ROCK
Mighty Maxxis has done it again: Adding to a string of successes throughout the year, the company’s sponsored rock crawlers took multiple podiums at the 2006 W.E.ROCK World Championships. Jessie Haines and spotter Brian Howard took second place in the unlimited class, with Danny Rohrer and Chad Rolfert nabbing third in the limited class. Dan Patterson and Bob Roggy scored the third spot on the podium in the modified stock class. The W.E.ROCK Championships were held November 3-4 in Henderson, Nevada.

Employees Ride Maxxis Wherever They Go – On and Off the Job
At Maxxis, Turning Passion into Performance is more than just a slogan: For many of our employees, work is just one part of a life that includes riding – and racing.

Take for example Scott Griffin, national sales manager for the Specialty department, who’s ridden motorcycles for 30 years, and sport bikes for the last five. Scott gets invaluable experience from his riding: “I’m able to talk to customers and consumers about our products from firsthand knowledge. I don’t have a sales pitch that is memorized - I can actually deal with questions and nuances posed by consumers.”

Dietrich Wins WORCS Series
Maxxis’ Ricky Dietrich has won the 2006 WORCS championship, taking the title with a hotly contested victory in the Mesquite MX Park. The last race of the 12-round series was held November 3 in Mesquite, Nevada.

Dietrich, who finished in 2:05:43, battled almost to the finish line with the second place rider, as he told cyclenews.com: “Getting down and dirty, and running through my mind how bad I want this [made the difference]. I rode with a lot of heart today, and this was the hardest race all year. I mean, me and Bobby were fighting like it was a motocross race out there, going wide-open the whole time. Man, I started cramping up at the end and stuff, but I just kept going."
