Maxxis Sponsored First Amgen Tour of California
Maxxis was proud to sponsor the largest professional cycling event in North America, the first-ever Amgen Tour of California. Maxxis' sponsored riders performed well in competition, including Nathan O'Neill of Health Net/Maxxis, who took fifth place overall, and Colavita-Sutter Home rider Zak Grabowski, who took the Stage One Best Young Rider jersey.

The eight-stage tour, held February 19-26, encompassed 700 miles of riding over a route that included ten host cities, wine country, redwood forests, and the Pacific Coast. Sixteen internationally renowned teams competed in this world class race, including Health Net/Maxxis.

Maxxis Sponsors High Speed Action with Time Attack
For Maxxis, 2006 is the Year of High Performance – and the company is off to a roaring start by sponsoring Time Attack, a series that will offer the best in racing action at sites all across the US.

Originating in Japan but gaining popularity in the US at a rapid pace, Time Attack is a sport with rules that can be explained in simple terms. According to eurotuner magazine “You take a street-tuned car with DOT tires and take it around a track. The goal is to get the fastest time possible in your class.” If last year’s series is any indicator, 65-70 drivers will compete in each event.

Maxxis Congratulates Josh Demuth on his Arenacross Championship Title
Maxxis racer Josh Demuth finished his turbulent Arenacross race season with a championship for the record books. The final round of the inaugural BooKoo Arenacross Series was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma February 11.

Despite a number of setbacks, Demuth was able to nab a total of nine wins throughout the series in his championship quest. In an interview prior to the final round of racing, Demuth commented: “I’ve been through a lot this year, but I’m going to keep pushing with everything I have. Whether or not I am broke up and hurting, I am never going to give up. I’m that type of guy.”
