Beginning her athletic career as an NCAA Division I swimmer and team captain at George Washington University, Stensland competed in her first triathlon in 1998 and turned pro in 2000. A U.S. National Team Member since 2001, she’s had ten career wins both nationally and internationally. She placed sixth at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Triathlon Trials and won first place at the Half Ironman Mexica, the Tijuana International Triathlon, and Scott Tinley’s Dirty Adventures Triathlon. Stensland also took second place at 2004 triathlons in Florida and California.
Stensland has now focused her attention on qualifying for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, as well as pursuing a business in marketing/promotions and motivational/educational speaking.
