Jamie Lanza is racking up accomplishments in his sophomore year as a pro. Fresh from a second top ten performance at the AMA Endurocross, he competed in the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), held October 12-17 in Figueria da Foz, Portugal.
The world’s largest annual off-road motorcycle contest, the ISDE is not for the faint of heart. Lanza was well-aware that this demanding race requires intense preparation and concentration. “I am very excited to race at the ISDE in Portugal this year. It has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while and the opportunity is truly a blessing. I am looking forward to the ISDE because it is no easy race; you have to be in shape, hydrate and eat right, and most importantly, know how to work on your motorcycle,” he told Maxxis earlier this year.
Lanza’s latest stellar performance in the AMA Endurocross came in Round 5, when he took seventh place. Lanza, a member of the Northland Motorsports/Precision Concepts Kawasaki crew that won this year’s 12 Hours of Glen Helen race, trusts Maxxcross tires to take him across the finish line. For most contests, he rides the Maxxcross SM in the front and the Maxxcross IT in the rear, believing that there is no better tire combo on the market. For Endurocross races, he prefers the Maxxcross SX front and rear. “I really like the 90/100 SX front. The wider footprint really seems to help through the rocks and logs of Endurocross,” said Lanza.
Maxxis is proud to sponsor Jamie Lanza and congratulates him on being chosen to race in the grueling 2009 ISDE.
