HFS Motorsports Loses 2 Crew Members

HFS Motorsports won the 7S class of the Baja 1000, finishing in 51:43:31 hours. The team’s jubilation was short-lived however, as two crew members, Larry Fisher and Sergio Avitia, were killed in a tragic accident while returning from the race, held November 10-16 in Mexico.

HFS’ Chuck Foreman, the nephew of Mr. Fisher, described the team’s reaction: “Winning and most of all finishing the Baja 1000 was one of the greatest moments in my life, and it was the same for all of our crew. There was not a dry eye among us. All of our joy and happiness was challenged on our way home…[But] Larry was never the kind of person to dwell on sadness and would like nothing more than to see us celebrate on his behalf.”

Maxxis extends its deepest sympathy to the families and friends of Larry Fisher and Sergio Avitia.
